It takes time, solid activities, and fun to get the ice broken and the team work fired up! The products below can be used as ways to get students working together as partners, small groups, or as an entire class. These resources are ideal for the beginning of a school year, as a way to strengthen and grow students together as the school year progresses, or as quick/fun little activities to promote Health and Fitness. These diverse and engaging activities aren't just meant for the gym and can be used in classrooms, for sport teams, and even in the business world.
Human Rock Paper Scissor- same concept as normal version with rock breaking scissors, scissors cutting paper, and paper covering rock except. Rock- means squat low, paper means plank, scissor means scissor jump. If person wins, they earn a point, if lose they must perform exercise or do something funny. Create tournament with winner winning a rock, piece of paper or scissors.
Name Action - Each person chooses an action-word to go with their name (e.g., "Aerobic Adam"), and then show the action to the group who repeat it. Taking turns teaching the group their name and movement as everyone gets a turn. Can also be Dance or Exercise or even an adjective they must act out as the group guesses?
Get me Through this- players are partnered up and 1 player is blindfolded or eyes closed as 1 player must verbally guide them through a particular area that has objects scattered throughout. Goal is to make it across without partner touching. Variation- each object touched represents something they must answer, example- cone- means they must tell something they are afraid about, hula hoop- 3 people they would like to meet, etc.
Dance Across- players are in circle facing. When a player has done something the instructor calls out, they must dance across the circle to switch with someone else who is switching. Change movements and things called out.
